The Get Together

In 2018, the Facebook Portal, the first Facebook product, was released. This product is unlike any other on the market. Its unique features enhance the video chatting experience -- making it more seamless, convenient, and entertaining.


Our goal was to create an immersive product release that showcased these unique features -- AR Storytime, smart camera, and smart sound.

Set around the holidays, we created -- the Get Together. Inspired by real homes, we created a cozy pop-up house in the middle of NYC. A fantastical version of where the product would truly live.

Inside our home, guest walked through the foyer, kitchen, living room, garage studio, and finally to the dining room -- each room highlighted a different aspect of the product. Guests were able to try out that feature and chat with a family member on the side -- walk through the kitchen using smart camera with the grandparents or listen to a bedtime story using AR storytime with Aunt Lisa.

Successfully showing the promise of the product — to connect people to their loved ones in a meaningful way.
